Arturo del Castillo

Misterix # 715 was published in 1962. At that time Arturo del Castillo was already working for Fleetway Publications in the UK. He co-adapted, namely, Alexandre Dumas' musketeers novels to comics as we can see below...

  1. A book on DelCastillo's Three Musketeers, scanned from the original art, was meant to appear in the UK. It never happened… and we'll probably never see it again.

  2. That's due to problems related to del Castillo's work rights.

  3. Hi Isabelinho, actually it's worse than that. The series was copyright by IPC, that now belongs to DC comics, that belong to Warner Bros. At the time the book was due, Warner Bros were putting out a new 3 Musketeers fim and didn't want the book to come out at the same time.

The film bombed, and now the whole rights thing is hanging in limbo…

    3) DC have never owned Fleetway/IPC. All rights to the artwork and stories published by AP/Fleetway/IPC from the 1900s to 2005 reside with Rebellion.

    Hope that helps,
    Steve
